Today’s Pill (20): Why I Can’t Stay Put
Having found a cell in the room where she’s isolated, a girl, returning home from an after school class, calls repeatedly at 112 (sort of 911) saying she’s been kidnapped and violated, with the parents also announcing the local cops (which, btw, close the office at 5pm till next morning) from their end. The operators in charge ask her to stay put and keep the line clear. The dialogue between the two parties is hallucinating, and while the girl is scared, desperate, cries, and offers as many details as possible, including the apparent location (which was about right,) the operators mock her and are (at least) ironic… the girl begs them to stay with her. A few minutes later, she’s hacked by a 60+ yo serial killer (a similar case, in the same region, staying unsolved,) allegedly burned in a barrel (not sure yet,) while it took some 19 hours till the cops, prosecutor and the girl’s father entered the property of the serial killer (after waiting for the next morning, as they’ve not been “mandated” to act earlier.) The cell’s location indicated a larger cone, with the crime taking place at the intersection of tech’s area and the girl’s indication.
A real case, with real people and politicians, about corruption, incompetence, and a neo-communist governance which leads to a society in turmoil, with killings, released criminals, abuses and bended laws.
